Working with this client has been a special journey, not just professionally but personally. We grew up together, and every time we meet, it feels like stepping back into our childhood. It’s funny how life takes you down different paths, but some connections always stay rooted.

Both of us grew up on farms, and we often reminisce about how different life was back then. I vividly remember warming up baby chicks on the woodstove or using a hair dryer to save a wet calf on our kitchen floor during the harsh winters. My client shared stories about how his family would bring livestock into the cellar to keep them warm when temperatures plummeted. Those moments of ingenuity and resilience feel like adventures now—a part of life our kids will likely never experience. It’s a little bittersweet to think about.

But back to the story...

This property we’re working on has been a journey of its own. It’s a beautiful place that attracted multiple offers, but every single one was contingent on the sale of the buyer’s property. Unfortunately, with the real estate market slowing down last year, each deal fell through.

Because of the slow market, we decided to pull the listing over the Christmas holidays. What we didn’t realize was that one of the buyers who had previously made an offer was in the process of selling their home. Fast forward a month later, and I received a call from their agent asking if the property was still available.

And it was!

We listed the property exclusively, and within a day, we had a firm offer in hand. It was such a rewarding moment—not just for my client but for me as well. Moments like these remind me why I love what I do.

I truly believe I’ll have the pleasure of working with this seller again in the future, and I absolutely look forward to it. What a pleasure it has been!
