A Winter of Showings, A January Success-My First Real Estate Deal
My very first open house introduced me to a lovely couple and their amazing parents, who would go on to be the first people I helped purchase a home. No exaggeration—we must have visited over 20 properties together! We put in several offers, but the competition was fierce, with buyers having larger budgets than we did. I truly understand how frustrating it can be trying to enter this market with a set budget.
We continued our search through the winter, braving snowstorms, and visiting houses in all sorts of conditions—some with dead mice, others with mysterious tubes running overhead (we never figured out why!). We were here, there, and everywhere, all in search of "The One."
I remember a moment when they apologized for the number of homes we'd seen. I quickly reassured them, saying, "Are you kidding? This is my job!" The truth is, I learned a lot from them, and we grew together through the experience.
Finally, in January, we walked through the door of a home that would soon be theirs. I rushed home like a madwoman to put together an offer, praying that this time it would be accepted. They deserved this home after all the hard work and disappointment. And as it turned out, everything really does happen for a reason- they got the house!
